Last post was a long time ago

My last entry was over four years ago, also at basketball tournament time.  Since then, none of my teams have done much for them to be noticed nationally much less regionally.  Those teams being from Texas Tech University.

The men's team has had several different head coaches, Bob Knight, Pat Knight, Bob Gillispie and  interim head coach, Chris Walker.  Now, just hired, Tubby Smith.

Bob Knight had some decent teams, not great, but, in my opinion, they represented the university positively.  Even went to the final 16 in the NCAA post season Tournament and played in other post season tournaments, NCAA and NIT.

All the others were just playing basketball, sound basketball, not really good basketball.  Chris Walker's only team (2012-13) played hard, they were just overmatched and not very good.  They seemed, to me, tried hard, beginning to end, just couldn't prevail very often.  I was never disappointed in their effort.

Pat Knight and Bob Gillispie were complete busts for different reasons. Pat Knight found out that having a HOF coach as a father didn't translate into coaching abilities.  I really didn't think his players  cared if they won or lost.

Gillispie had his own baggage which he was unable to shed when given another chance by Texas Tech.

The lady raiders have been led by a coach who I think is just in over her head.  Some talent, not much, and not much effort for even thirty minutes in a forty minute game. Coaching decisions are very suspect, not representative of the history of the program.
